2007 Local Business & Local People Competition Winners
A diverse range of nominations were received from local businesses for the 2007 Local Business & Local People competition. The selection committee had a difficult job to decide between many commendable examples of how both large and small local businesses have improved the quality of life for residents of Rushmoor.
Congratulations go to:
Norris and Harding (Aldershot) Ltd (local builders) were selected as winners for their outstanding list of construction and financial support to the local community including provisions to Connaught School; Badshot Lea Play Group, Aldershot Boys Football Team, Aldershot Football Club and various community events in Aldershot.
Princes Mead Shopping Centre was selected as runner up with support to numerous local projects and charities throughout the year. Gary Little, Centre Director has since joined Rushmoor Strategic Partnership.
The winners have been invited to attend a reception hosted by The Mayor of Rushmoor and Peter Moyle, Chairman of Rushmoor Strategic Partnership and Leader of Rushmoor Borough Council. Awards will be presented at the Full Council Meeting on the evening of Thursday 21st June 2007.
The selection committee proposed that it would be a good idea to run this competition as an annual event.
